Burning

The burning starts in my heart, slowly creeping outward enveloping every nerve. I want this to stop but it won't. The pain is too powerful. As it takes me, I succumb.

Curling up, my body shakes. Tears flow from my eyes. I am lost. I can't escape, unable to hear or see. Only to feel what was and what will never be.
